Exhibitions: Work has been shown/performed in a number of exhibitions and installations including: Digbeth to Eastside - Poetry by David Hart and Julie Boden, photography by Richard Green, Poetraits - Poetry with portraits by Graham Kershaw, Glass Slipper – dance for screen installation and Bluebeard’s Wives – paintings by Jan Wild. I was also part of The People of the City exhibition by photographer, Brian Griffin.
Voice Overs: Various voice over projects for Trilby Media, emote and Talking Birds.
Interviewer and Host: Julie hosted many events at Moxhull Hall and at the Oasis Café Theatre. She also interviews other artists - most recently, the novelist Jilly Cooper for Ledbury Festival. In 2008 she is in-conversation with Joolz Denby at Warwick Words Festival and in- conversation with Fiona Sampson and Kathy Hinde at the Town Hall, in Birmingham.
Live Performances and Workshops: Over 1,500 workshops to date and a large number of performances and readings in a variety of weird and wonderful venues. Far too many to list but here’s a flavour of some of the most recent workshops and performances:
Competitions: 2006-2008 Judge of a dozen poetry competitions including the Warwick Poet Laureate Competition , Warwick Schools’ Competition, Cannon Writers’ Sonnet writing competition, Turves Green Poetry Competition and the Laurie Magnus Prize for GDST.
Reviews: She regularly wrote reviews for the raw edge magazine but she generally prefers not to be a critic and would prefer to spend her time creating new work rather than spending too much time in examining the bones of other people’s.
