Written in December 2002, when Julie was Birmingham Poet Laureate, to be presented on Holocaust Memorial Day at the Council House in Birmingham in January of 2003. Within two weeks of the first reading, 10.000 copies of the poem had been made by various groups and circulated around the country. The poem was printed in its entirety in some newspapers and due to popular demand 1,000 copies of this poem were published in chap book form by Pontefract Press in 2003.
